BAYTOWN, Texas - Harris County is suing an illegal Baytown game room where a security guard was killed during a robbery.
Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan said the game room in the 7300 block of the East Freeway has been the target of several investigations since April 2009. Gambling equipment has been seized and people have been arrested and charged with being in possession of gambling devices.
Juan Pardo-Gonzalez, a uniformed security guard, was killed at the game room during a robbery on Aug. 5. Rafael Gomez Solis, 26, and Santiago Jaimes Gonzalez, 28, have been charged with capital murder in connection with the crime.
Ryan said that game rooms generate large amounts of cash and that leads to high amounts of crimes in the areas in which they are located.
