When they arrived smoke and flames were coming front the second floor of the two-story townhouse apartment building.

Water problems made the fire hard to get under control at first. Firefighters found the old apartment building had spaces in the walls and a flat roof that caused issues containing the fire.

Fire officials said a few cats died in the fire.

None of the residents were injured.

Four townhouse units have fire damage and another two suffered water and smoke damage.
