Consumer Recall: Ready-to-eat salads, slaw and dips

WASHINGTON – Check your refrigerator for ready-to-eat salads, slaw and dips that may be part of am expanded recall.

Garden-Fresh Foods says the recalled products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes-fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Some of the recalled brands include Market Pantry, Archer Farms, Finest Traditions, Garden-Fresh and Weis.

The recalled products were sold in 14 states, including Texas, in various size containers ranging from 6 to 18 ounce packages.

Consumers who have purchased any of the products are urged to return it to the store for a full refund.

Safety officials said currently there have been no illness or complaints related to this recall.
