Construction will close Katy Freeway at Highway 99 this weekend

HOUSTON – A weekend construction project could slow down drivers on the west side this weekend.

The east and westbound main lanes of Interstate 10/Katy Freeway at SH 99 will be closed on Saturday from 3 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Drivers will need to take the SH 99/Grand Parkway exit ramp onto the frontage road and reenter the main lanes.

Also, the eastbound main lanes at I-10/Katy Freeway at SH 99 will be closed Sunday from 3 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Another closure will begin Monday and close the I-10/Katy Freeway eastbound frontage road at SH 99 from 9 p.m. until Tuesday at 5 a.m.

Drivers will detour SH 99 South to Kingsland Boulevard. The closures are so TxDOT crews can hang the north and southbound main lane beams on SH 99 - Segment E of Grand Parkway.

Crews will try to keep the IH 10/Katy Freeway direct connector to SH 99 open during construction, but drivers should expect delays and may want to consider alternate routes if possible.
