Constable arrested, indicted for lying under oath, officials say

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas – A Liberty County Precinct 6 constable was indicted Monday morning for lying under oath. Constable John Joslin was arrested Monday afternoon.

He's accused of submitting a false sworn statement to investigators in a case involving a man who investigators say pretended to be an officer.

Joslin told detectives the man never worked for him in any capacity when in fact he did.

If convicted, Joslin faces up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
