HOUSTON - We're kicking off the work week with cold, morning temperatures.
We dropped down to the upper 30s this morning, which is not quite the record low set on this date. The record low is 36 degrees, set back in 2006 on this day.
Sunday's cold front cleared the skies and dropped our temperatures. With clear skies and calm conditions, radiational cooling caused temperatures to plunge overnight and into this morning. Some of our northern and rural communities saw lows down to the mid 30s this morning.
We'll get a reinforcing shot of cooler air today, so daytime highs will only top out in the upper 50s with plenty of sunshine and northerly winds around 10-15 mph.
Tomorrow morning, temperatures dip even lower. In Houston, morning lows will drop down to the mid 30s and a light freeze is possible for our northern and rural communities.
