HOUSTON -

The U.S. Coast Guard said a diver was airlifted Thursday evening after experiencing decompression issues following a dive about 120 miles off the Galveston coast.

The Coast Guard said they were contacted by a doctor aboard a nearly 100-feet passenger boat just before 8 p.m. requesting help for one of the divers.

A helicopter responded and airlifted the 33-year-old woman in stable condition to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
