HOUSTON -

A local coalition is calling for the Harris County district attorney's office to stop putting members of grand juries through a police shooting simulator.

Each new group of grand jurors goes through training and part of that training includes a shooting simulator, which simulates real-life shootings.

The Greater Houston Coalition for Justice said the simulators are a one-sided influence.

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the practice of putting jurors through the simulators in 1977, but did warn about the potential abuse that could rise from such tactics.
