FALFURRIAS, Texas – Border Patrol agents confiscated $1.7 million worth of marijuana during a vehicle inspection Monday at the Falfurrias checkpoint, authorities said.
A K-9 alerted agents to a tractor-trailer that had pulled up to the checkpoint for an inspection.

Agents conducted a search and said they found several anomalies in some boxes inside the trailer.
A search of the boxes led to the discovery of 2,202 pounds of marijuana, authorities said.
The driver and the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
