Click2Daily: Artist's house for sale goes viral

HOUSTON – A local artist has put her Richmond house up for sale and it is attracting a lot of attention on social media.

The home at 4302 Colony West Drive is a 7,406 square-foot estate with 5 bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms, but it is the interior design that is interesting to folks, many of whom have seen pictures and videos of it online.

Sandy "The Artist" told KPRC 2 News she is an artist, and clothing and jewelry designer.

"The whole house is filled with art just by me. I've done the art in the house," she said.

Her home is filled with colorful paintings, dolls, mannequins suspended from the ceilings and other designs.

"There's a lot of art but the house is art," she said. "If this house makes you smile and this house makes you feel good, then what else would you want from your house?"

Diana Power is the realtor for the property and she said Sandy and her family built the home about 17 years ago, investing a lot of money into the construction.

"The thing about this house is that it was built to be here forever," Power said. "It's not Georgian, it's not Victorian, it's not ranch. It would be called a traditional house."

Sandy said she is selling the home to move closer to her family, but she hopes the next person will enjoy the property just as much as she has.

"I'd like to walk away crying, knowing that the next person is going to make as many memories as I did in this house," said Sandy.

The home is listed for sale at $1.275 million and features a family room, art studio, game room, garage apartment, pool, outdoor kitchen and a 4-car garage.
