Cinco Ranch homeowner unnerved after SUV backs into home

CINCO RANCH, Texas – A Cinco Ranch homeowner describes the moment an SUV struck his home as "unnerving."

It got even more unnerving after he discovered what caused his house to shake.

Surveillance video shows a white SUV drive into his driveway last Thursday and back into his house. It was a light tap, but photos show it was enough to cause a few thousand dollars' worth of damage.

"The wall was pushed in I would say about an inch, an inch and a half," says the homeowner who does not want to be identified. "And, of course, it's cracked the surface of the brick itself."

Surveillance also shows the driver not only getting out of the vehicle but strolling up to the front door and peering inside. He jumps back when the homeowner slaps the other side of the door.

The most bizarre part was the driver's response when the homeowner asked him what happened.

"That's when it was described that he had a friend that was involved," the homeowner says. "He was going to visit and apparently got the wrong home."

When the homeowner went to call police the driver took off, almost causing an accident driving out of the neighborhood.

The owner -- who believes the driver may have been plotting a crime -- wants the man caught.

"Him or anyone that he's associated with," he said. "We want this to end in our neighborhood and, of course, everywhere else in the Houston area. We want a safe city."

The SUV had temporary license plates that were folded.

The homeowner says estimates to repair the damage to his home have come in as high as $2,500.
