HOUSTON – A 4-year-old is dead after a horrific Montgomery County car accident.
It happened just before 1 p.m. Tuesday about a half mile south of State Highway 242 on Old Houston Road.

Investigators said the mother was driving too fast around a curb when she lost control and hit a guardrail.
Deputies told Local 2 that a piece of that railing pierced the car and hit the child.
Officials said the child's mother was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital in critical condition.
The child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
