Child abduction alert issued for 4-year-old believed to be 'in grave danger'

MIDLAND, Texas – Investigators in Midland County are searching for a 4-year-old boy and the man who might be responsible for taking him, officials said Friday.

Authorities said they believe the child is in grave or immediate danger.

Caleb Andrew Tondre is about 3 feet tall and weighs 45 pounds. He has strawberry blond hair, hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a lime-green Gap shirt, khaki pants and red Jordan shoes, according to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect in the case, Christopher Allen Tondre, 36, is sought in what’s being called an abduction.

Tondre is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 175 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a T-shirt and blue jeans. He has a tribal tattoo on his left arm, investigators said.

The suspect is driving a blue, 2005 Kia Optima with a Texas license plate number of HBS5560 with a New England Patriots sticker on back window. The suspect was last heard from in Midland, officials said.
 
Anyone with information regarding the abduction is asked to call the Midland County Sheriff’s Office at 432-688-4623.
