Cheers! It's National American Beer Day

HOUSTON – A toast to the beer drinkers across the nation as today, Oct. 27, is National American Beer Day.

There are more than 2,100 breweries that manufacture beer in the United States. The majority are new small breweries and brewpubs, also know as craft breweries.

U.S. beer styles include American pale ale, Pennsylvania porter, steam beer and amber ale.

The most common style of beer produced by the big breweries is American lager.
