HOUSTON – Chad Holley quickly appeared in court Wednesday.
Holley was supposed to be arraigned on the charge, but his court date was rescheduled to Aug. 16.
The 18-year-old and three other suspects were charged with burglary of habitation. Harris County sheriff's deputies said the group was seen running out of a home in northwest Harris County with stolen goods in June.
Since his arrest in June, Holley has been at a psychiatric treatment center.
"It's 24 hours a day, seven days a week," community activist Quanell X said. "He's not hanging out with his buddies or sitting at home with nothing to do."
Quanell X said Holley has several mental problems. Quanell X and Holley's family have not disclosed which mental illnesses Holley has been diagnosed as having.
"I think the break down came when Mr. Holley stopped taking his medication," Quanell X said. "He became a different person."
Holley went back to the psychiatric facility after his court appearance.
Holley made national headlines in March 2010 when his arrest, in connection with another burglary, was caught on camera. He was 15 at the time.
Several Houston police officers from that video were charged with official oppression. One was found not guilty. Three others have not yet faced trial.
