Caught on camera: Truck, horse stolen

PORTER, Texas – Surveillance cameras were rolling when a thief stole a woman's pickup truck and the trailer it was towing, with her horse inside.

Linda Lee said she did everything she could to keep her horse and property safe. She said she locked all of her doors when she stopped at Tractor Supply in Porter just after noon on Friday.

When Lee left the store, she found her pickup truck, trailer and horse were all gone.

"I just really want this little horse back," Lee said. "She's really special to me.

Lee calls her Paint Horse "Cat." She planned to ride the brown and white mare after making the stop at the store.

Surveillance video from the store shows her pulling into the parking lot. After she went into the store, a green Ford Taurus is seen circling the parking lot several times before the driver parked in front of Lee's pickup truck.

Investigators said someone got out of the Taurus and into the pickup truck.

A few minutes later, the Taurus pulls away and the person now in the driver's seat pulls away, too.

Lee said she doesn't really care about getting her pickup truck or trailer back – she just wants Cat.

"I want the horse more than anything else," Lee said.

Lee is offering a $1,000 reward for her horse's return.

The stolen pickup truck is a white 2006 Ford F-250 4x4 with black scrape marks on the driver's side door about mid-window. There are also several dents in the tailgate. It has Texas license plate No. BP75282.

The trailer is a white 2010 S&H two-horse slant with a front tack compartment. It has a Texas decal on the rear and Texas license plate No. DYZH70.

Anyone with information is asked to call Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-STOP.
