Cat rescued from burning home

The neighbor's dog alerted them to the fire

HOUSTON – Houston firefighters rescued a cat from a burning home.

The fire began at a home on Nashua and 13th Street in The Heights Saturday morning.

Neighbors called 911 after their dog woke them up and alerted them to the fire.

The homeowner was at work when the fire began, but neighbors knew there was a cat inside the house and told firefighters.

They were able to find the feline hiding inside and safely rescued it.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
