HOUSTON -

A homeowner in the Heights is left with a huge mess after a driver runs a car right into the back of his house.

It happened Sunday around 3:00 a.m. at West 11th Street and Rutland Street.

The driver told Houston police, she lost control after she spotted another car coming toward her head-on.

She swerved to avoid the car, and that's when she slammed into the house, driving halfway into the kitchen.

One woman inside the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The homeowner told Local 2 he and one other person were sleeping when the sound of the house alarm and a loud bang woke him.

He originally thought someone was breaking into his home, until he walked to the back and found the car.

According to police, no alcohol was involved in the accident.
