Car crashes into Shell gas station in Katy

Surveillance video shows woman driving through store's plate glass wall

KATY, Texas – Authorities say a car crashed into a gas station in northwest Harris County on Tuesday.

The Harris County Sheriff's Department said the accident happened just before 1 pm at the Shell gas station at 19000 Clay Road in Katy.

Surveillance video shows a woman pulling into a parking space of the gas station, who apparently thought she had her foot on the brake.

Instead, the manager of the store said the woman hit the accelerator, causing her vehicle to go over the sidewalk in front of gas station and through the store's plate-glass wall.

A man was eating his lunch at a table a few inches from her bumper. He walked away uninjured.

No injuries were reported and the driver also wasn't hurt.
