Cafe owner's gun stolen during robbery

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas – A restaurant owner was robbed as she tried to open her café for the day.

Liberty County sheriff's deputies said the owner of Red's Cafe, 16598 F.M. 146 North, was attacked about 5:35 a.m. on Monday.

Detectives said a man threw the owner to the ground and stole her purse.

The man got away with the owner's cash and her gun, investigators said.

The man was described as black and 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing all black clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt.
