Caddie charged with child pornography

Police: 550 images found on Joseph Kantz' laptop

HOUSTON – A Houston caddie was charged with possession child pornography after investigators said they found 550 images on his laptop.

Joseph Kantz was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with two counts of promotion of child pornography, two counts of possessing child pornography, and one count of improper photography.

Investigators from the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said they searched his family's apartment in west Houston on Friday, and found at least 550 pornographic images of children on his laptop.

The task force said an online alert linked to his I.P. address led them to Kantz. Investigators said Kantz admitted that his curiosity about child pornography started in college.

Kantz works as a caddie at golf courses in the Houston area. Investigators said he works for a caddie management company out of Florida.

Investigators said they also found about a dozen up skirt videos on Kantz's cell phone. Investigators said he would put his phone in movie mode, put it in a shopping basket with other items, strike up a conversation with a woman, then take pictures up her skirt.

Investigators said he took movies of unsuspecting women while shopping in the Memorial/Kirkwood area of west Houston. Investigators said those women were not aware of the recordings.

Local 2 asked for comment from Kantz's family. However, no one at Kantz's apartment would talk about his arrest.
