Houston’s Bush Airport is adding more security to keep traffic moving around the terminals.

The Houston Airport System says it was already planning to increase the number of security guards before an armed man was shot in Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental Airport earlier this month.

Airport officials say they are in the process of hiring 25 part-time employees whose primary responsibility will be traffic control. Hiring started a month ago. They are also considering hiring an onsite towing service.

On May 2, 29-year-old Carnell Moore left his truck parked alongside Terminal B and walked inside. He then fired a gun into the ceiling before he shot himself. Moore was also shot by a security agent.

An AR-15 rifle was later found in Moore’s truck, which airport officials ticketed before the shooting.
