HOUSTON – A car burglary suspect was arrested after leading police on a chase through the Galleria area.
Around midnight Wednesday, constables responded to reports of a possible vehicle burglary near San Felipe and the West Loop. When they arrived, they saw a man run off near the railroad tracks and toward a neighborhood on Suffolk Street.
Houston police, a helicopter and a K-9 unit all responded to the scene. The suspect was eventually found in a backyard.
According to reports, while the suspect was being taken into custody, he was bitten by the K-9. Officers called paramedics, but police said the man was not seriously injured.
Police arrested and charged the suspect with evading arrest. His name was not immediately released.
