A car burglary suspect was arrested after leading police on a  chase through the Galleria area.

Around midnight Wednesday, constables responded to reports of a possible vehicle burglary near San Felipe and the West Loop.  When they arrived, they saw a man run off near the railroad tracks and toward a neighborhood on Suffolk Street.

Houston police, a helicopter and a K-9 unit all responded to the scene. The suspect was eventually found in a backyard.

According to reports, while the suspect was being taken into custody, he was bitten by the K-9. Officers called paramedics, but police said the man was not seriously injured.

Police arrested and charged the suspect with evading arrest. His name was not immediately released.
