HOUSTON -

Police want you to see two crooks caught on camera. They believe the same two men are responsible for breaking into four homes in The Villages in recent weeks.

On May 9, two men broke into a home on the 900 block of Magdalene Drive in Hedwig Village. The surveillance video shows a man breaking a sliding glass door with a rock. He and another man wait presumably to see if anyone is home. Then they step inside.

“They go in and rip off the alarm speakers and commit their burglary,” said Sergeant Steve Packard of the Hedwig Village Police Department.

On May 29 they appear again, this time in Piney Point on North Country Squire Street. Surveillance video shows the men creeping up to a back door. One man backs up and breaks in with one kick.

The same night the pair hit another home in Piney Point and another the next night in Spring Valley Village. So far, police believe the two are responsible for four break-ins.

"It frightens me that they would be do something like that," said Hedwig Village resident Wolf Schroeter. "Hopefully they spent some time making sure no one's home."

A woman was home in Spring Valley Village. Police say the thieves ran when she screamed.

Investigators believe they are jumping over back fences to get to their targeted houses. No cars have been seen. The thieves are wearing masks and gloves so there have been no fingerprints.

Police worry the thieves could be violent if they’re cornered.

"In one of the videos, it appears that one of the men may be carrying a pistol," Packard. "We want the public be to be cautious. We're going say that they are carrying a pistol, even though the video's kind of grainy."

The burglars are hitting up the homes just after dark at about 8:30 p.m. The latest break-in was at 10 p.m. If you see anything suspicious or if you recognize the figures in the videos, call police.
