Burglar triggers alarm in NE Houston business

HOUSTON – A Houston business' alarm system paid off when a motion detector triggered inside the building, warning the owner of a burglary, police said.

The incident was reported at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of Homestead Road at Cavalcade Street.

Houston police said when they arrived, the burglar was gone.

Police said the owner told them he rambled went through the office, but nothing appeared to have been taken.
