Buffalo Bend Nature Park in East End officially opens

HOUSTON – Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Harris County Precinct Two held a ribbon cutting for the Buffalo Bend Nature Park in Houston's East End Wednesday morning.

“This nature park is very important because so many times schools don’t get to experience nature, they don’t get to get outdoors enough. So we’re hoping it will be a great site for school trips and volunteer events,” President of Buffalo Bayou Partnership Ann Olson said.

The 10-acre park is located near the Port of Houston Turning Basin was officially opened and features wetland ponds, hike and bike trails, native plantings, interpretive signage and an overlook. The park offers recreation and wildlife conservation and serves as an eastern trailhead along Buffalo Bayou.
