Brother, sister grateful for opportunity to see Olympics in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO – Just over two weeks after Brice and Nadia Munoz were surprised with a trip to the Olympics, the brother and sister are in Rio de Janeiro preparing for the opening ceremony.

The siblings from Diboll, Texas, spent time at the Ronald McDonald House in Houston as they both awaited and then recovered from liver transplants. Now the kids are healthy enough to experience the Olympic Games in a way very few will.

These two extraordinary kids were chosen as part of McDonald's Olympics Kids Program through Ronald McDonald House Charities. They’ll be in the opening ceremony with children from 20 other countries.

Brice had just two words to describe it: “Really cool.”

His sister? “Very excited.”

Brice says he likes track. Nadia says she likes gymnastics. The children will get to see some events before flying back to Texas. But before the opening ceremony Friday, they have one message for their friends in Houston: "Thank you for giving this opportunity to us."
