BROOKSHIRE, Texas - Residents in the Brookshire area have been told to boil their water because it may be contaminated.
According to the Brookshire Municipal Water District, there was a main line break on Monday. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the boil water notice because the water could contaminated with bacteria or other microbes.
Water used for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for at least two minutes.
Anyone with questions about the boil water notice should call the Brookshire Municipal Water District at 281-375-5010 or the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality at 512-239-4691.
