CLEVELAND, Texas -

A massive fire ripped though a flea market in Liberty County overnight.

The blaze started just before 3am Monday at a flea market on Highway 59 and County Road 377.

Charred wood and twisted metal is all that is left after an overnight fire ripped through the flea market. As morning broke, you could see the significant damage left behind by this massive fire.

Around 3 this morning, when firefighters got on the scene there was heavy fire and thick smoke that could be seen for miles. The fire had engulfed the building at the Trading Place Market destroying about 30 vendors inside.

The fire was even more difficult to fight than usual because there aren't any fire hydrants on site. Firefighters had to shuttle in truck loads of water and pump water from a nearby pond to fill a reservoir in order to continue fighting the fire.

The flea market has been here for four years and the owner says they will rebuild as soon as they can.

Thankfully no one was hurt because the building was vacant. Several fire departments helped in getting this fire under control.

Firefighters will keep their eye on hotspots and make sure it doesn't re-spark.
