It happened during a Boy Scout camping trip at Matagorda Bay two weeks ago.

Dakota Arnold was at the retreat with his dad, when they spotted spotted the woman in the water.

Dakota's dad and another person pulled the woman out of the water.

Halfway back to shore, they just couldn't pull her any further.

That's when Dakota ran in to help and pulled the woman to shore.

"There's nothing as sweet as that," said Dakota. "Something could have gone wrong for them, and they're here because you helped."

Dakota also says that he didn't think about reacting, he just jumped in and did whatever he could to help.
