Boy saves mother's life with 911 call

HOUSTON – A 9-year-old Houston-area boy was honored Monday for calling 911 and saving his mother's life.

Trey Fontenot made the call in December after his mom said she wasn't feeling well.

"I called 911," he said. "I was telling her to calm down. I told her to breathe."

His mom, Rita Jollivet, was having a heart attack, but Trey wasn't alarmed. In fact, he knew exactly what to do -- keep calm, call 911, and comfort her.

"I wasn't aware that he was taught that," she said. "We would kind of discuss it at home, but I wasn't aware that he was so familiar with it from day care."

Officials said Trey is a true of example of how to help 911 help you.

He gave his location, stayed on the line and answered all questions until help arrived.
