Boy, 5, found locked in closet making progress at hospital

HOUSTON – For the first time we're getting a look at the sweet face of the little boy who was nearly starved to death allegedly at the hands of his family.

A Facebook page dedicated to helping little Jordan Bleimeyer, 5, released an update and a new photo of the boy. With almost 5,000 likes, the Facebook page called 'Toy Drive for Baby Boy Bleimeyer' is showing us how well the boy is now doing.

According to the Facebook page, on Saturday Jordan was taken off all IVs. He enjoyed food so much that he finally said he was full. He also gained four pounds bringing his weight to 33 pounds.

That same day, he even asked for a Happy Meal. He's talkative and enjoying his new toys. Nintendo has reached out and is donating Jordan a full range of their products.

Investigators have arrested the boy's father and stepmother, Brad and Tammi Bleimeyer, and charged them with endangering a child. They're accused of locking Jordan in a closet and not feeding him. He was severely malnourished when he was found weighing just 29 pounds at the end of March.

The Facebook page was put together by friends of the boy's family. The caption for the picture of Jordan reads, "The power of love and prayers bring us this amazing smile. Please help by sharing this incredible update around the world." They say they are still accepting more donations.

Local 2 has teamed up with Be a Resource for CPS Kids or the BEAR program to help Jordan, and other abused children. There are drop-off sites all over the area. To find out how you can help, click this link.
