Boy, 4, tossed from SUV in crash; expected to survive

HOUSTON - A child was injured in a crash involving a food service truck in southeast Houston.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. Friday on Crestmont near the 610 South Loop feeder road.

Officials said a mother and her two children were in an SUV when it was hit by a Accent food truck.

A 4-year-old boy was tossed from the vehicle.

Authorities said he sustained cuts to his head and body and was taken to Texas Children's Hospital. He is expected to survive.

Houston police are investigating the crash.
