Bodies of missing father, son found on Galveston beach

Three people went missing near San Luis Pass over the weekend

GALVESTON – Officials have identified the two bodies that were found Tuesday morning on the shoreline on the shoreline of San Luis Pass on the Galveston County beach as the missing father and son.

Galveston police said the bodies were found around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday near Intrepid Lane and San Luis Pass Road.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Department said 48-year-old Raul Stothart, of Missouri City, and his 10-year-old son, Chandler, went missing on Sunday near San Luis Pass.

Police said the bodies were found about a quarter mile from each other Tuesday morning.

Another man, 18-year-old Chris Jackson, went missing on Friday after he was hit by a large wave in the same area. The U.S. Coast Guard called off the search for him over the weekend.

Authorities said Tuesday they found the body of a white male Monday morning on the Brazoria County Beach shoreline. Officials said the body of the man they recovered matches Jackson's description, but an autopsy is being performed by the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office to make a positive identification.
