Beloved pastor laid to rest

Great-grandson charged with murder

HOUSTON – A beloved pastor, who police said was killed by his own great grandson, was laid to rest Saturday.

The funeral for James Dorsey was held just over a week after he and his daughter, Barbara Dorsey Alexander, were found dead inside their home.

The grief was too much to contain for many during the funeral at Holmons Street Baptist Church, where hundreds gathered to pay their final respects.

But for the ones who loved the Dorseys, it's impossible to forget the brutal way they died.

Investigators said Dorsey's great grandson, 20-year-old Cameraon Dorsey, was staying with the pastor to get back on his feet after being released from prison.

Investigators said Dorsey argued with the pastor, then killed him and the Barbara.

Now, after saying their goodbyes, family and friends are left to cope with the devastating void.

Local 2 spoke exclusively with the Cameron Dorsey. He said he thinks it's fair that he's been charged with capital murder. He also said he remembers everything, but he didn't want to talk about why it all happened.
