The Bellaire Police Department is looking for two men accused of robbing two pedestrians in 20 minutes.
It happened between 7 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
"They were driving around, looking for somebody to rob, and they found them, they robbed them and they will probably be robbing someone else today or tomorrow in another part of town," Bellaire police chief Byron Holloway said.
The first robbery happened to a female jogger at 7:11 p.m. on the 8100 block of Alder Drive.
Authorities say a Hispanic man jumped out of a car and pointed what they believe was a 9mm or .45 caliber pistol at the woman. Investigators say he demanded her cellphone, took it and got back into the car.
The second victim was a 15-year-old male walking his dog on the 4800 block of Wedgewood Drive. At 7:30 p.m. two men in a vehicle similar to the first robbery approached the teenager.
Police say a man pointed a handgun at the victim and say he would shoot him and the dog if he did not give him his cellphone. The man took the cellphone and fled in the car.
Belinda Smith has lived on Wedgewood in Bellaire for 20 years was stunned to learn what happened.
"To have it in your own backyard is so scary, I am just shocked for Bellaire," she said. "You have parents and kids that walk the neighborhood all the time with their dogs
The man who took the cellphones is described as a Hispanic man. Authorities say he was wearing a black baseball cap, a black and white bandana, a black T-shirt, light-colored shorts and knee high black socks.
The driver is described as a heavyset Hispanic man with dark complexion and short black hair. Investigators say he stayed in the car during both robberies.
The vehicle is described as a small white older vehicle and could be a Honda Civic or Nissan Maxima. The second victim told police it has four doors.
The Bellaire Police Department is asking if any nearby homes or businesses with surveillance cameras have footage of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-662-8125.
