BAYTOWN, Texas – Lockdowns at two high schools in Baytown on Friday morning were lifted, but police are still searching for the man that prompted them, authorities said.
According to a Facebook post from the Baytown Police Department, a person jumped out of a vehicle in the Oakwood Addition area about 10 a.m., after a low-speed chase. Witnesses reported that the person had a gun.
Police said that officers set up a perimeter near Lee High School and Impact Early College High School, both on Market Street, and searched for the person for more than an hour.
Just before noon, police reported that they ended their search, but they believe they know the person for whom they are looking.
The man was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts, carrying a small bag and a handgun.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Baytown police.
