Bank saves cat from euthanasia

BERWYN, Ill. – A cat in Berwyn, Ill., was spared from euthanasia thanks to the legal power of a bank.

The cat's owner recently died. In her will, written 20 years ago, she stipulated that all of her cats be put down.

Fifth Third Bank, which oversaw the Georgia Dvorak's estate, took the request to court and argued it found a shelter for the healthy 11-year-old cat.

A judge agreed. Boots was was sent to a no-kill shelter.
