HOUSTON – One of the two bank robbery suspects who led police officers on a chase that lasted nearly an hour is a convicted killer.
Detectives said the chase started when the Trustmark Bank in the 10300 block of the Katy Freeway was robbed about 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday.
The driver led officers on a chase on half of the 610 Loop and down Interstate 45. It ended on Scott near Noah, in southeast Houston, a while after two of the vehicle's tires were flattened and one of the rims had popped off.
One of the men arrested was 48-year-old Brackshear Booker. Booker was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison in 1989. He was denied patrol in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010. He was granted parole in June 2012, with the parole board citing good behavior and completion of a three-month pre-release program.
Booker has been charged aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
The other man involved in the robbery and chase is 24-year-old Robert Hansen. Court records show that he was on probation for a 2011 charge of burglary of a building. He has also been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
