LEAGUE CITY, Texas -

Police in League City took two men into custody in the Victory Lakes subdivision following a nearby bank robbery.

Police say two suspects robbed the Wells Fargo located in the 1600 FM 646 near Interstate 45 Thursday morning at around 10:30.

Officials say the suspects were armed with semi-automatic pistols, then left in a red mini-van. That van was quickly spotted by a police officer, who chased the suspects into the subdivision.

The chase ended on a home on Aztec Court, where neighbors say the suspects ditched their vehicle and ran away. Neighbors described it as looking like a scene from a movie.

Terry White said she was inside her home on Aztec Court when she heard a siren.

"I had enough time to turn and look out the window. And that's when I saw the police draw his gun," said White.

Another neighbor, Natalie Garcia, said she grabbed her three children and ran upstairs, trying to get away from what looked like a scary situation.

"I looked out my window and grabbed my kids because everyone had rifled and guns out here," said Garcia.

Everyone... including some of Garcia's neighbors.

"They dropped their money and they split. I went and got my protection, as well as all the neighbors down the street. Everybody was out in backup protection for the police officers," said White's husband, Lewis.

Police took the first suspect into custody not long after the search began and said money, clothes, and guns were recovered at the scene.

The second suspect was found in the bushes and taken into custody just before 1 p.m. That suspect was located just behind another neighbor's backyard.

"It's frightening just to know they were looking for him and he had to be there the whole time. They searched the whole area but I don't think they ever searched the bushes," said Gary Harris.

League City police identified the suspects as Kevin Riggs, 43, and Ernest Hamilton, 44. Both are facing charges of aggravated robbery and evading arrest.
