HARRIS COUNTY -

A bold robber walked into a crowded northwest Harris County Walmart and held up the bank inside. The FBI said it happened about 10 a.m. Monday at the Walmart at 7075 FM 1960 West near Cutten Road.

Surveillance cameras caught a clear picture of the man as the FBI said he handed the Woodforest Bank teller a note demanding cash and threatening to have a gun.

The FBI says the suspect is a big guy who should stand out in any crowd. He's 6 foot 2, 300 pounds. He was wearing a dreadlock wig with sunglasses, a blue hat and a blue jacket.

The teller handed the robber some money. He walked out and then he drove away in what was described as a silver Pontiac Grand Prix.

About four miles away in a shopping center on 1960 near Veterans Memorial, the robber's loot, or at least part of it, was found lying in the parking lot. The FBI would only say the money was apparently abandoned, but they wouldn't comment on theories as to why the thief may have left it behind.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber.  If you have information about this case, please call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
