The Houston Police Department is investigating two separate robberies that happened in the 9500 block of Bissonnet near the Southwest Freeway.
The first robbery occurred on Aug. 10th at 2:30 a.m. Police said the victim was using the drive-up ATM to withdraw cash when an armed suspect walked up to the driver's side window and demanded money.
"The victim conducted a withdrawal and the suspect demanded that the victim drive away," police said. "The suspect removed the money from the ATM and ran to a vehicle, which was blocking the exit of the bank parking lot."
Three days later, a similar incident happened at the same bank. A female victim using the drive-up ATM refused to give the robber her ATM pin, so he grabbed her purse and cell phone then fled the scene.
The woman followed the man in an attempt to get his license plate number, but he fired a shot in her direction. Authorities said the woman was not hurt.
In both robberies, police told Local 2 the suspect was seen getting into a dark tan sedan. There are several surveillance images of the incidents, but it's difficult to make out the man's face.
Customers at the bank said the recent crime has them checking their surroundings.
"It's very, very scary," said Buck Oba. "You have to watch where you go."
"I always make sure I know what my surroundings are," said Dan Crawford. "You need to do that everywhere you go now-a-days for sure."
