Ballunar Festival flies over Clear Lake

HOUSTON – The annual Ballunar Liftoff Festival will fill up the skies above Clear Lake this weekend.

About 50 giant hot-air balloons will be featured. There will also be dozens of skydivers jumping in formation. There will be a carnival with food, arts, crafts, rides and musical entertainment.

NASA will host an open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. People will be able see astronaut training facilities, see a mock-up of the International Space Station and meet astronauts.

Festival admission is $20 per vehicle if purchased on-site, but it is $10 per vehicle if purchased online.  

The festival is open 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday.
