Autopsy report: College student from Baytown shot 5 times

SAN ANTONIO – Autopsy and toxicology results have been released for the Baytown college student who was shot and killed by a campus police officer in San Antonio.

According to the report, Cameron Redus, 23, was shot five times by a University of Incarnate Word officer on December 6, 2013.

The report states the college student had alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of his death.

Authorities said the officer stopped Redus after seeing him driving erratically near the campus. A witness said Redus was scuffling with an officer when he was shot.

Family members say they understand Redus was resisting arrest, but question the justification in shooting an unarmed student.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, which is a standard procedure in these types of incidents.
