Authorities search for Houston man on 10 most wanted sex offender list

HOUSTON – A Houston man has been added to the top 10 most wanted sex offender list.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is searching for Johnny June Mason Jr., 48, after authorities said he failed to register as a sex offender and violated his parole.

Mason spent 20 years in prison for a committing an aggravated rape and aggravated crime against nature involving a 16-year-old in Louisiana, according to authorities.

Officials said his last known address was in Houston and he has been missing since last June.

Officials said Mason is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. They said he has a tattoo on his left forearm and a scar on his forehead.

A cash reward up to $3,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to his capture

To be eligible for the cash reward, tipsters must provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:

Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).

Text the letters “DPS,” followed by your tip to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cellphone.

Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive about whom you have information, then clicking on the link under his or her picture.

Submit a tip through the DPS mobile app. The app is available for iPhone users in the Apple App Store.
