Local authorities want the public to be on the lookout for a man they are calling a dangerous felon.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force have teamed up to find Jose Alejandro Perez.

HCSO said Perez, a.k.a. "Alex," is considered an extremely dangerous felon and is wanted in connection with the shooting death of a teenager nearly three months ago.

Shelly Wilson, 18, was killed on September 28. He was shot in the 2004 block of Fry Road in West Harris County. Deputies found Wilson, 18, lying in the roadway next to his pickup truck.

Deputies said Wilson had stopped at the intersection of Fry and Younglake Drive, and that's where he encountered Perez in his 2010 black Ford F-150 pickup. Deputies said there were two other people inside Perez's truck.

According to deputies, there was a verbal exchange and Wilson was shot.

Anyone with information about Jose Alejandro Perez's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
