HOUSTON – Authorities on Friday announced the arrests of 22 people during a four-day child abuse initiative by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
Officials said that from April 10 to April 13, four teams executed warrants on people who have been charged with serious crimes against children.
The operation coincided with Child Abuse Prevention Month, officials said.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said about 200 cases of child abuse are investigated by Harris County deputies each month.
