Authorities investigating an oil well explosion in South Texas.
The Karnes County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened before dawn Tuesday near Gillett when some batteries, salt water containers and diesel tanks apparently exploded.
The blast occurred about 50 miles southeast of San Antonio.
Officials said one man suffered burns and was flown to a hospital in San Antonio for treatment.
A stretch of Highway 80 was shut down following the accident reported around 5 a.m. Tuesday. Sheriff Dwayne Villanueva says the fire died down after several hours but emergency personnel continued to monitor the site.
No other details have been released at this time.
