Astros fans travel to Los Angeles for World Series game against Dodgers

LOS ANGELES – It’s been less than 24 hours since the Houston Astros won the pennant and advanced to the World Series.

Game 1 is Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and the team, along with fans, are now making their way to Southern California.

“I’m loving it. It’s exciting. I was at the World Series in 2005 and Game 4," said Jason Aguirre, who is an Astros Fan. “I was hoping for at least one win then so, hopefully, we get them all this time.”

Aguirre arrived in Los Angeles Sunday morning and made his way to Dodger Stadium to take a selfie to send to his family.

He didn’t have any Astros gear when he arrived in LA so stopped at the mall to get a hat before going to the stadium for a picture.

"I just got this hat a minute ago and I heard a couple people talking, 'Hey, Dodgers!' and I said, 'No, Astros!' and they said, ‘We’ll see,'” Aguirre said about the friendly taunting he received at the mall.

Aguirre, who was born and raised in Houston, but now lives in San Antonio for work, didn’t plan to be in Los Angeles for the World Series.

“Actually fate, I’m here for work. I didn’t know I was coming until Friday, so this worked out. Now I’m looking for a ticket,” said Aguirre, as he laughed about the situation.

Most people you find around the stadium are obviously Dodger fans.

“Oh, they’re very excited. Like I said, it’s been a long time to wait,” Robert Brooks said, a street graffiti artist who was spray painting a Hello Kitty Dodger’s fan on a traffic signal box.

“It’s been a long wait man, so I’m happy for them. I hope they take it all,” Brooks said. “LA wants it. We want it so bad.”

On Sunday afternoon, crews prepped Dodger Stadium for Tuesday’s big game.

It’s safe to say, fans on both sides of the aisle are excited about participating in the World Series.
